World Relief Minnesota participates in the following programs:
PY 2009-10
Refugee Social Services (RSS)
RSS contracts through the State of Minnesota (DHS) endeavor to provide refugees with stable housing, assistance in adjusting their immigration status, safe environments, engagement in community services and programs, and independent functioning. WRM currently is involved in two RSS contracts; primarily providing assistance with the adjustment of the immigration status of refugees. WRM is working with the Karen Organization of Minnesota and with African Assistance Programs and the Organization of Liberians in Minnesota in these efforts.
Anti-Trafficking Program
WRM has held a subcontract with United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, USCCB, since 2006 to provide case management services to certified victims of human trafficking. WRM also provides educational and awareness trainings to faith communities on trafficking and working with victims.
Social Services to Older Refugees (SORELD)
WRM was awarded this grant through the Minnesota DHS to provide extended case management and wrap-around services to elderly arrivals. The desired outcomes are similar to those for the Refugee Social Services contracts.
